Diagnostics and Fault Finding

Diagnostics is certainly a 'buzz' word at the moment, with many garages offering it as a service.
A common misconception is that a diagnostics computer will find a fault and tell the technician what to replace. This is not entirely correct — the computer will give an interpretation of the fault (e.g. what the car thinks is wrong with itself). This guides the technician in the right direction to the general problem area. Then our high level of skill and expertise, specialist equipment and access to technical data enable us to perform an accurate diagnosis.

We test where many other garages and dealers cannot or do not.

‘Test not guess’ is our ethos and approach. The key to diagnostic testing is understanding the system or component that is being tested. Knowing how that system works and behaves under normal, faultless conditions leads to a logical diagnostic process that can be implemented and followed consistently.
